New contracts for Chalobah, Philip and Saville

    From the official site:

NEW DEALS FOR CHALOBAH, SAVILLE AND PHILLIP

Three members of Chelsea's reserve team squad have signed new contracts.

Nathaniel Chalobah (above right), who was on the substitutes' bench for the first team at Wolves on Monday, signed for two and a half years, committing himself to Chelsea until 2014. Having turned 17 last month, this is his first professional contract.

George Saville (above left) who is 18 years old signed for three and a half years, taking him to 2015, and Adam Phillip (below) has been given a 12-month extension to his existing contract which was due to run out in the summer, so he is now signed for the next 18 months.

Chalobah is an England Under 19 international who has made nine appearances for the reserves this season, six of them as captain. Saville has played in all 13 reserve league games this campaign and is a midfielder who can stand in at centre-back.
Phillip, 20, is currently out of action with a long-term knee injury, the latest in an unfortunate run of injuries for the pacy striker who is a former England Under 17 international.

Speaking for myself, you can translate that as: "God! Don't I feel old!!"

Not that I'm completely decrepit but ... John Terry and Frank Lampard make me feel old.. and from that perspective AVB as manager doesn't exactly help either!

Indeed, it's all a matter of perspective! If I regard them as incredibly young, perhaps I won't feel so old. Whereas if I admit that they are grown-up, I have to admit that I'm ancient!
