    Gary Cahill

    Read this:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...=feeds-newsxml

So Josh will most likely going to be out on loan to Bolton so we get Cahill.
I think this is a great idea, because we need Josh to play more first team football.

With Terry and Cahill at the back, it will be really solid like the England national team.
Luiz should try to play right back, that would be great.

Yes it's definitely true. Bolton have accepted our offer, so now all that's left is for the player to agree terms and hopefully pass a medical. So barring unforeseen circumstances, assuming all goes well, we'll be able to finalise the deal next month when the transfer window opens.

    From the Premier League site:

Bolton and Chelsea agree Cahill fee
Boss Coyle confirms that price is set for highly-rated Bolton defender

Bolton Wanderers have agreed a fee with Chelsea for highly-rated defender Gary Cahill.

The 26-year-old former Aston Villa player has impressed in his 127 Barclays Premier League appearance for Bolton and he has won seven England caps, including one goal against Bulgaria.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle said: "There has been a fee agreed between the clubs and we have now given Gary's representatives permission to speak to Chelsea.

"That is where we are with it. We obviously have a game [against Wolves on New Year's Eve].

"I have said to Gary that he has to be focused on giving everything for Bolton Wanderers, because he knows Bolton Wanderers has been terrific for him just as much as Gary has been for us."

Cahill, who joined Bolton in a £5m move from Aston Villa in January 2008, is out of contract at the end of the season

A further update, this time from AVB:

The Portuguese also confirmed the club are in talks with Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill's representatives after the two clubs agreed a fee for the 26-year-old.

'Gary has been involved in a struggle with Bolton and a fight for position in the league. I think his technical attributes are immense, and his pace is fantastic as well,' Villas-Boas said of the former Villa centre-back. 'There are weaknesses that stand but they are also related to the collective organisation of Bolton and that's why Owen [Coyle] is trying to correct them.

'He is a player who has been playing magnificently well at international level, alongside John Terry and I think he can add to any squad in the Premiership - he can make this jump.'

There is however plenty of distance left to run before Cahill becomes a Chelsea player.

'We are still miles apart regarding agreement with the player and we will continue to monitor this situation as we are continuing to monitor the other targets we have outlined,' Villas-Boas added.

'I would reiterate we are still very far away in terms of agreement with the player and am not sure if the player is going to join us or not.

'It's on my chief executive's hands at the moment. It's an on-going conversation and we have to wait for the best outcome.'

Well apparently he starts today against Wolves. The question is, will this be his last appearance for Bolton?

According to the Express Cahill is demanding £120,000 per week, while we're offering somewhere around £70,000. Naturally they have no quotes to back up the story, no named sources, merely "the Daily Express can reveal". So it looks like just another bit of media bullshit, the only quote in the entire article being from Owen Coyle:

Nothing has progressed as far as it has with Chelsea and we haven’t agreed a fee with any other club. But we’ve had enquiries – you do for any player
Coyle has also stated that Cahill is "absolutely" a part of his plans for tonight's game at Everton.

If thats true, then I think its way too much.

Got a feeling he will still come to Chelsea, but both sides are trying to keep a low profile.

I'm pretty sure it was just paper talk.

Notice Cahill was Bolton's captain last night. A farewell gesture perhaps?

I might well be wrong, but I've got a feeling the decider could be whether or not he plays for Bolton at Macclesfield in the FA Cup on Saturday.

    Update from the BBC:

Gary Cahill Chelsea deal in next 48 hours - Bolton boss Owen Coyle

Gary Cahill's move to Chelsea could be completed within the next 48 hours, according to Bolton manager Owen Coyle.

Bolton have accepted a bid for the centre-back, thought to be in the region of £7m, but personal terms are yet to be agreed.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas said this week that club and player were "miles apart" from agreeing terms.

But Coyle claimed: "There's a chance the deal can be concluded by the end of the week."

Reports have suggested that Manchester United were interested in signing the 26-year-old England international, who is out of contract in the summer.

"There hasn't been any dialogue between ourselves and Manchester United or anything like that," said Coyle.

"When there's continued conjecture and everything that goes with it people are always going to throw up names.

"We as a football club agreed a deal with Chelsea Football Club and for me that's binding.

"The only way that will fall down is if the relevant parties don't agree. But my own feeling is I'm pretty sure they can get to a place that they're all happy."

Cahill scored the winning goal in Bolton's 2-1 victory at Everton on Wednesday, but will play no part in the FA Cup third-round tie at Macclesfield on Saturday.

Coyle said: "Gary Cahill will be one of those to miss out on the game, and it's nothing to do with the continuing speculation regarding Chelsea.

"He's one of a number of players that probably needs to rest given the amount of games they've played."

I hope we do get him in the weekend, he could make his Chelsea debut against Portsmouth.

I don't think he'll be eligible for Sunday somehow, but (assuming the signing goes through) Cahill could well be in the squad for the Sunderland game on January 14th.

Yeah, it would most likely be tight schedule if he did come.

Im sure if he came this weekend, he will be able to make his debut against Sunderland, maybe 20 min appearance?
